Experimental Acrylic & Design

FRIDAY 9:30 – 12:00 PM I January 20 – March 10, 2023 (8 WKS)

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE with Susan Mencini – These class sessions will focus on format, design and technique using acrylic paint, mediums and various mixed media choices. This is a great place for beginners and experienced artists alike to learn new techniques and be inspired by innovative applications. Work done will be more expressive and non-objective in approach. Demos/group critiques will be short and to the point to allow much time to experiment. Suggested supply list. M $122 NM $142

Susan Mencini Biography

Susan Mencini is a 1980 graduate of Cooper School of Art in Cleveland and studied at Kent State University. In college, Susan’s major was Printmaking and she has incorporated some of its processes into her paintings. She primarily uses fluid acrylics with a transparent watercolor application. Susan has taught at CVAC since 2004 and also teaches Art at Cornerstone Community School in Tallmadge.  Recent awards: Susan won judges’ awards in both the Member and the Floral exhibitions at CVAC this year and won the Kaleidoscope Award at Summit ArtSpace in 2016.  One of her images is featured on the postcard for the Kaleidoscope Annual Exhibition.
