The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center proudly presents the 45th Annual Whiskey Painters of America Exhibition & Art Sale, showcasing the extraordinary skill of the esteemed Whiskey Painters of America (WPA). This prestigious exhibition features the largest collection of Whiskey Paintings for sale in one location anywhere in the world.
A Whiskey Painting is a watercolor miniature—no larger than 4” x 5”—created by dipping the paintbrush into alcoholic spirits rather than water. Founded in 1962 at Akron’s historic Tangier Night Club, the WPA remains one of the most exclusive and unique miniature painting societies in existence. Membership is invitation-only, requiring sponsorship from a current WPA artist.

Mon–Tue 10–3 PM | Wed 3–8 PM | Thu–Fri 10–3 PM | Sat 10–2 PM
Visitors are invited to participate in the exhibition’s People’s Choice Award by voting for the painting that resonates with them most. The winning artwork will be announced during the Artist Reception on Friday, October 9, from 5:30–7:00 PM. This special reception offers guests the opportunity to enjoy live whiskey painting demonstrations, hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and the chance to meet WPA artists. Final votes for the People’s Choice Award will be collected, with the winner announced at 6:30 PM. Admission is free, and all are welcome to celebrate the remarkable artistry of this internationally recognized group.

Whiskey Painters Supporting CVAC’s Vibrant Palette Scholarship Program
In celebration of this year’s exhibition, the Whiskey Painters of America have generously donated Whiskey Paintings to be raffled off in support of CVAC’s Vibrant Palette Scholarship Fund. This fund ensures that individuals—2nd grade through adult—can experience the joy of art education regardless of financial circumstances.

Tickets may be purchased at CVAC or by phone at (330) 928-8092 from September 15 through October 22, 2026. Winners will be announced/contacted on October 23, 2026.
Whiskey Paintings typically sell for $75 to $1,500, with most ranging between $150 and $300, making this raffle an exceptional opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind artwork for as little as $10 while supporting a vital community program.
