Unlock Your Creative Potential: Apply for a CVAC Scholarship Today

At the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center (CVAC), we believe that no one with a passion for the arts should be held back by financial constraints. That’s why we’re proud to offer the Vibrant Palette Scholarship Fund, designed to provide full-class scholarships to students from 2nd grade through adulthood. Whether you’re just beginning your artistic journey or seeking to refine your craft, these scholarships are here to ensure you have the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow.

Thanks to the generous support of the PNC Foundation and our dedicated donors, a limited number of scholarships are available to those who meet specific financial and artistic criteria. These scholarships are our way of making high-quality visual arts education accessible to everyone, empowering students to develop their talents and express their creativity in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Who Can Apply?

Scholarships are available for students from 2nd grade through adulthood. They can be used for any of our 5 to 10-week classes or even our Summer Camps. The number of scholarships correlates with the classes we offer, ensuring that there’s always an opportunity to learn, regardless of your age or experience level.

Our Commitment to Access and Equity

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center is committed to ensuring that art education is accessible to all. Our research aligns with findings from the Akron Cultural Plan, which revealed that 41% of those surveyed faced cost barriers to arts and cultural activities. Understanding that this issue extends beyond Akron, we aim to bridge the gap by allocating 75% of our scholarships to individuals from low to moderate-income households.

By doing so, we’re not just offering classes; we’re opening doors to creative careers and lifelong artistic endeavors. Art starts here at CVAC, and we’re committed to making it a starting point for everyone, regardless of their financial situation.

Scholarship Guidelines

  • Equal Opportunity: Fair and equal consideration is given to all applicants, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or creed.
  • Annual Limit: Each applicant may receive up to two scholarships annually, with a maximum of one scholarship per session.
  • Awarding Discretion: CVAC retains the discretion to determine scholarship recipients.
  • Income Priority: 75% of scholarships are reserved for low to moderate-income households.
  • Deposit Exclusion: Students who have paid a deposit to reserve a spot in a class are ineligible for a scholarship for that same class.
