The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center believes that no one with an interest in taking an art class should be deterred from doing so because of cost. CVAC’s Vibrant Palette Scholarship Fund offers full-class scholarship opportunities to students (2nd Grade – Adult) with an interest in art and a financial need. Thanks to the generous support of the PNC Foundation and donors, a limited number of scholarships are available for students who meet special criteria including financial and artistic needs. These scholarships are intended to offer students access to high-quality visual arts educational opportunities, providing artists with the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop their talents.
Scholarships are available for students ranging from 2nd grade to adults, for classes from 5 to 10-weeks, as well as Summer Camps. The availability of scholarships is correlated with the classes offered.

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center believes that the full expression of creativity is a key element in the development of successful and productive individuals who make meaningful contributions to the quality of life and sustainability of our community. ‘Art Starts Here’ at CVAC for students of all ages. CVAC believes that art possesses the power to shape meaningful careers, regardless of one’s stage in life.
Research from the Akron Cultural Plan revealed that 41% of those surveyed had a cost barrier to their family’s ability to access arts and cultural activities. Recognizing that this is not an issue unique to only Akron, CVAC is looking to offer access to quality visual arts programming via class scholarships. CVAC plans to gear 75% of its scholarships towards applicants within low to moderate-income households, to close the cost barriers separating these individuals from quality visual arts programming.
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES:
1. Fair and equal consideration will be given to all applicants regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or creed.

4. 75% of scholarships will go towards applicants within low to moderate-income households.
5. If a student has paid a deposit for a class, they are ineligible to receive a scholarship for that same class.
