Cuyahoga Valley Art Center’s Figurative Exhibition Shines Spotlight on Artists at Artist Reception
Cuyahoga Valley Art Center’s Figurative Exhibition, on display March 9 through April 15, 2027, invites the community to experience the many interpretations of the figure—human, animal, or imagined. Artists may explore the theme through realistic representation, abstraction, or conceptual approaches, offering endless possibilities for creative expression. All mediums are welcome, including traditional, sculptural, and mixed media, provided the work captures the spirit of the “Figurative” theme. Artists are encouraged to let their imaginations guide them as they interpret figures in distinctive and thought-provoking ways.
At the heart of the exhibition is the community itself. Cuyahoga Valley Art Center invites visitors to take part in the People’s Choice voting, giving the public an opportunity to select their favorite artworks across all seven categories. This community-driven process provides a meaningful way for visitors to recognize the artwork that speaks to them and celebrate the creativity of local artists.
People’s Choice voting will conclude at 6:30 pm during the Artist Reception on Friday, April 2, 2027, from 5:30 to 7 pm in Cuyahoga Valley Art Center’s main gallery. This free event is a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect with participating artists, enjoy refreshments, and take in the wide range of artwork featured in the exhibition. More than an evening of art, the reception is a celebration of creativity, connection, and community.
