At Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn, create, and experience art. We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, artists, visitors, and community members of all abilities.
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are continually looking for ways to make CVAC more welcoming and accessible. If you have an accessibility need or are unsure whether a particular class, exhibition, or space will work for you, we encourage you to contact us. We are happy to discuss your needs and help you determine the best options.
CVAC’s main entrance is located on Front Street and provides step-free access to the building. The entrance is equipped with an automatic door and is wide enough to accommodate a standard wheelchair.
Metered street parking is available on Front Street near the building. Visitors who require step-free access should enter through the Front Street entrance.
The gallery level includes an accessible restroom that can accommodate individuals using wheelchairs and walkers.
CVAC’s historic facility does not currently have an elevator or ramp. As a result, some classrooms can only be reached by stairs.
Our gallery classroom, located on the main level, is our most accessible classroom. Students can reach this classroom from the Front Street entrance without using stairs.
Because classes are held in different areas of the building, we encourage students with mobility-related accessibility needs to contact us before registering. We can help identify classes that take place in the most accessible spaces and discuss available options.
We want students of all abilities to have the opportunity to participate in CVAC classes and workshops. Our faculty is happy to work with students to provide reasonable accommodations that support their participation.
If you have a disability or accessibility need, please let us know when registering or contact us before your class begins. Providing information in advance allows us to work with you and your instructor to determine what accommodations may be available.
We welcome visitors of all abilities to CVAC exhibitions, receptions, demonstrations, and community events.
If you are planning to attend an event and have an accessibility concern, please contact us in advance. We will do our best to answer questions about the space and help you plan your visit.
Service animals are welcome at Cuyahoga Valley Art Center.
We are committed to making our website as accessible and easy to use as possible. We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our online content and provide information that can be accessed using a variety of devices and assistive technologies.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, please let us know so we can work toward addressing it.
If you have questions about building accessibility, a particular class or classroom, an upcoming exhibition or event, or an accommodation you may need, please contact us. We are happy to talk with you about your needs and help you determine the best way to participate at CVAC.
