Studio Art for Teens

FRIDAY 9:30 – 11:30 AM I July 11 – September 5, 2025 I (8 WEEKS) *No class July 18

(Young Adults, Middle-High School) Students who have a love of art and wish to learn the basics will jump into a variety of techniques in this class. A professional teaching artist will cover many subjects such as drawing, painting, art history, and the art of exhibition. These courses will focus on hands-on learning intended to spark creativity and imagination and build a lifelong connection with art all while meeting Ohio educational standards for the arts. This class will offer home-educated students the opportunity to explore, study, practice, and exhibit their fine arts skills within our studio setting. All materials are included in the class cost. COST $120

INSTRUCTOR:

Lee Palencar:

Lee Palencar is an artist, author, retreat director, and retired art educator with 23 years teaching experience in public and private schools. She has a BA with double majors in Art and History from Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and earned a Master of Arts in Sacred Art from Pontifex University in 2022. Happily married to artist and illustrator John Jude Palencar for 38 years, they have great joy in their adult sons, Ian and Kit, and their new daughter, Kit’s wife, Kelly. Lee and John reside in Medina, Ohio.
