Cuyahoga Valley Art Center Invites the Public to its Artist Reception, on March 28th, 5:30-7 pm
Cuyahoga Valley Art Center (CVAC), invites art enthusiasts to actively participate in shaping the narrative of its Figurative Exhibition, running March 4 through April 17, 2025. The exhibition, offering free admission to the public, welcomes visitors during gallery hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 10-3 pm, Wednesday from 1-6 pm, and Saturday from 10-2 pm. The exhibition showcases diverse artistic mediums with a central theme of ‘Figurative,’ including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and works on paper.
Attendees can play a crucial role in recognizing outstanding talent through the interactive People’s Choice selection process. Obtain a ballot at the gallery entrance, select your favorite artwork, and drop your completed ballot for a chance to influence the recipient of this special recognition.
The People’s Choice Award winner will be revealed during the Figurative Exhibition’s Artist Reception on Friday, March 28th, from 5:30 to 7 pm This celebratory event offers patrons the unique opportunity to mingle with the artists, enjoy refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, and even purchase art. Admission to the reception is free, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for all art enthusiasts.

Special Guest: Meet Muralist Derek Brennan
As part of this special evening, we’re excited to welcome Derek Brennan, the artist behind CVAC’s upcoming ‘Pantone of the Cuyahoga River‘ mural project! Brennan, a renowned Cleveland-based muralist, has painted nearly 50 large-scale murals, with his work featured at MetroHealth, The Cleveland Museum of Art Community Arts Center, and Cleveland Public Auditorium. At the reception, guests will have the opportunity to meet Derek, ask questions about his creative process, and learn more about this exciting public art project coming to CVAC. The mural is made possible through the generous support of ArtsNow and the ArtsForward grant, reinforcing CVAC’s mission to make art accessible and engaging for the community.
