Human Figure Exhibition: CALL TO ARTISTS

CVAC is looking to showcase the talents of participating artists depictions of the Human Figure. The subject matter of the art work must be related to the human figure, all mediums are encouraged. CVAC will be accepting submissions on

Friday, February 22nd from 10:00 – 7:00 PM &

Saturday, February 23rd from 10:00 – 2:00 PM.

Cost:

$30 for up to 2 entries for CVAC Members and

$35 for up to 2 entries for non-CVAC members.

This is a juried exhibition.

This exhibition opens to the public on Tuesday, February 26th. Awards will be distributed as the winners are celebrated during the Human Figure Exhibition Artists Reception on Friday, March 15th from 5:30-7:00 PM. Patrons will have the opportunity to mingle with the artists, enjoy refreshments and hors d’oeuvres and purchase art during this free reception.

JUROR:

Prof. Patrick Melnick
Dean of Academic Affairs and General Education Department Chair

As the Dean of Academic Affairs at The North Coast College, Professor Melnick teaches Anatomy and Figure Drawing, History of Art, Idea Generation, and Neuroscience of Creativity. An instructor for more than 30 years, he earned his Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame. His career includes the production and coordination of numerous art shows, both locally and nationally. Professor Melnick worked as a curatorial assistant at the internationally recognized Zaks Gallery in Chicago. He also served as a judge on the board of Madison, Wisconsin’s National Endowment of the Arts Council. His broad range of expertise in a wide variety of knowledge domains has ensured him a unique position on the academic guest lecture circuit, which capitalizes on connecting previously unconnected things to explain creativity, insight, and solutions.
