Landscapes Exhibition
The subject matter of the displayed artworks are all related to Landscapes both literally and figuratively. CVAC is excited to reveal the breadth of interests and investigations from our participants within this juried exhibition. Our juror, Dino Massaroni had the difficult job of jurying the submissions and selecting the Best of Show, Second-place, Third-place and honorable mentions of this exhibition.
Massaroni selected Phyllis Estis’s piece Sun Kisses as the Best of Show, Ann Ferguson Kah’s oil painting The Sun Breaks Through for Second-Place, Mary Ann Valvode’s Hillside Farm as the Third-Place winner and Dale Warren’s Rainy Night on Manchester Road receiving an Honorable Mention.
This exhibition opens to the public on Tuesday, August 28th and runs through September 27th. A People’s Choice Selection process will be available for the community to vote for their favorite pieces within this exhibition. Awards will be distributed as the winners are celebrated during the Landscapes Exhibition reception on September 7th from 5:30-7:00 PM. Patrons will have the opportunity to mingle with the artists, enjoy refreshments and hors d’oeuvres and purchase art during this free reception.

JUROR: Dino Massaroni
Dino Massaroni is a professional portrait artist and an educator in drawing and painting, who has received numerous awards in major regional and national competitions. Dino holds an Associate’s degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He is a 40-year member and past president of the Akron Society of Artists and is a Charter Member of both the Portrait Society of America and the Ohio Plein Air Society. Dino is a regular exhibitor at the Group 10 Gallery in Kent. Dino has been an art instructor teaching drawing, life drawing and oil painting at Cuyahoga Valley Art Center since 1977.
