
Anne Lackney has over a decade of experience as an art educator, having taught across nearly every grade level within Akron Public Schools. She has led a wide range of art workshops for children and teens, including work with Project RISE, supporting unhoused youth through creative engagement. Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications from Kent State University and a Master’s degree in Visual Arts Education (PreK–12) from the University of Akron.
A versatile artist, she works across multiple media, with a focus on illustration, ceramics, and fiber arts. Known for her curiosity and hands-on approach, Anne embraces new materials and techniques with confidence, often teaching herself through direct exploration and experimentation. She is deeply committed to her own artistic growth and brings that same spirit of discovery into the classroom, encouraging students to build skills, take creative risks, and develop their unique artistic voice.
