(Young Adults, Middle – High School level) Drawing from Life is an opportunity for students to develop their drawing skills and observational abilities through a combination of painting and drawing. Students will explore the joys of painting, sketching, and drawing both inside and outdoors. They will use a variety of materials including but not limited to pastels, acrylics, watercolor, graphite pencils, and charcoal.

Jamie Stewart-Coley has been an art educator for over 30 years. Stewart-Coley’s teaching career began in the Chicago area before they relocated to Cuyahoga Falls in 2004. It is here where they developed and implemented a visual arts program for grades Pre-K through 8th grades at St. Joseph Parish School. Stewart-Coley holds a BFA and Commercial Design degree from the University of Dayton.
Their background in art covers a wide range of art forms including ceramics, photography, weaving, printing, drawing, and painting. Stewart-Coley also has a vast knowledge of art history and expressive creation through reflection, literature, and music. The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center welcomed Stewart-Coley to its esteemed faculty in the fall of 2022. Stewart-Coley looks forward to working with the community’s youth to develop the next generation of artists.
