BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE This workshop is designed to teach students many of the basic skills necessary for creating acrylic paintings. Lessons will be sequential and are intended for students with little or no previous experience with this medium. Returning students are welcome. This class will cover both traditional and experimental techniques. Some basic drawing skills are helpful but not a prerequisite. Students who complete this 2-day workshop will have the skills needed to join other CVAC classes confidently.
Students will be required to bring their own supplies, a supply list is provided below.

Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. Please pack your lunch for this workshop daily. If you cannot, there are local places where staff can recommend ordering boxed lunches. Students will need to pick up these lunches during their designated lunch.

Born in Fairview Park, Ohio in 1992, Palencar was raised with a brush in one hand and a pencil in the other. Backed with painting and drawing fine art degrees with a Masters from Kent State and a Bachelors from The University of Akron, Palencar has exhibited in galleries across Northeast Ohio and has collectors from around the globe. During his undergraduate career at the University of Akron in 2015, Palencar was awarded the top-honor scholarship at the Myers School of Art as well as received an additional private scholarship for his watercolors through the Frederic Whitaker and Eileen Monaghan Whitaker Foundation.
