Intermediate Oil Painting

TUESDAY I 3:30 – 6:00 PM I JAN 13-MAR 17, 2026 I (10 WKS)

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED w/ Amy Gibson – This class is designed for students who have some experience with oil painting and are ready to build on their foundational skills. Lessons will focus on deepening understanding of composition, color mixing, value, and brushwork, while encouraging individual expression and more complex subject matter. Demonstrations and guided instruction will help students refine their technique and develop their personal style. Returning students are welcome. Completion of a beginner oils class or equivalent experience is recommended. This 10-week class will prepare students for more advanced CVAC courses and independent work. M $178 NM $203

INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY

Amy Gibson

Amy Gibson, b. 1976 in Alliance Ohio.  Amy received her B.F.A from the University of Akron in 1999. She currently teaches at Cuyahoga Valley Art Center in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio and Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington NC. She also offers private lessons. Ten of her works are archived for the moon as part of the Lunar Codex Project. Her artwork has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur and American Art Collector Magazine.  She has shown in PTFN at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, Teaching Artists at the Cameron Museum of Art, and her work is Internationally collected. She loves teaching and helping people reach their goals. She is represented by 33 Contemporary Gallery in Miami.
