OIL PAINTING
MONDAY 6:30 – 9:00 PM I JAN 11 – MAR 15, 2027 (10 WKS)
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED with Linda Hutchinson – Come Paint with me! This class is designed around weekly challenges that will push us into a better understanding of what makes for a more dynamic work. We will discuss materials at the first meeting. Challenges are designed around both the design elements and principles as well as varying subject matters. Paintings are not intended for completed perfection, but as learning mechanisms for further study. My goal is to help artists to further refine their personal aesthetics rather than judging works for photorealistic correctness. Drawing skills are assumed.
Experimentation is encouraged. Mini critique sessions based on design are held at the beginning and end of each class period to help artists to cement their intentions and to encourage self-critiquing. I believe that learning is circular, so we will all be learning from each other (about both the paintings and the materials). Joyful participation is encouraged.
