MaryAnn “Mo” Mosyjowski is an Akron, Ohio–based mixed media artist whose work resists easy categorization. Embracing what she describes as “a thousand styles,” she moves fluidly between mediums—including watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage, batik, Gelli plate printing, and Pysanky—creating pieces that range from representational to abstract.
A Ukrainian-American artist, Mosyjowski’s life experiences have deeply informed her creative voice. Time spent working on a dude ranch in Cody, Wyoming, and in a Las Vegas casino introduced a wide range of subjects and visual influences that continue to surface in her work today. She has also studied with numerous notable artists, including Frank Webb, Don Andrews, Pat Dues, and Robert Burridge.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Mosyjowski is a dedicated educator who has led private lessons and workshops since 2006. She teaches a wide variety of subjects, including mixed media, and watercolorat the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center.
Mosyjowski is a member of Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, Group Ten Artists, and an emeritus member of the Akron Society of Artists. Her work has been recognized with numerous regional awards, including the People’s Choice Award at Summit Artspace’s Kaleidoscope exhibition for her altered book of self-portraits.
