Gelli printing is a form of art called monoprinting. Previously in order to do it you had to have a press to transfer the paints from the plate to the paper or fabric. Today there is a new method called a gelli plate, which allows you create beautiful monotypes without a press. The first day of this workshop will cover the steps and process for making multiple Gelli Plate papers. The second day will be focusing on assembling papers into fabulous mixed media works of art.
Students will be required to bring their own supplies, supply list provided.
Mary “Mo” Mosyjowski does not like to limit a piece to one medium, but will bravely try any means possible to make the composition work. She has experience in watercolor, acrylic, collage, oil, batik, Gelli Plate Printing and more. She has taught private students and workshops since 2006 on altered books, Pysanka (Ukrainian egg decoration) using a batik method of wax and dye and also done presentations on Gelli Plate Printing. Mo teaches the Discovery of Art class and Paint Parties at CVAC. Her abstract works have won many art show awards and she won the People’s Choice Award at the Summit ArtSpace Kaleidoscope Show for her altered book of self-portraits.
